Personality:
Brown's... quite a character, really. Most would be quick to note that the guy has quite the ego, like really the ego. It's almost a ridiculous amount of ego, like he would pretty much at least once slide into the conversation how he, the wonderful and magnificent Brown, is the best of the best. Not only that, but he also proclaims himself as the leader of the team during the demon fiasco in Mikage-cho. Yeah. Of course, this brings to the matter how when shit hits the fan- like for example, some strong-assed demon, he's usually the first to suggest they'd split or quickly apologize to it. Yeahhh.

If, by some odd chances, that people didn't make note of his ego at first sight then it his appearance and demeanor would go second. Brown likes to try to make himself stand out, whether by the way he dress or the way he moves and speak. As one could believe that appearance might at least give some sort of hint to the person's personality, this certainly applies to Brown. While not outright provocative or strange, he has a pretty good sense of unique fashion that makes him standout as well as his rather occasional dramatic tone in speaking. He tries to be the flower in midst of the weeds, or something.

Although, even with his ego and rather attention-seeking look, he's quite the cheerful character. He's pretty happy-go-lucky kind of guy who tries to have fun with those around him and the like, even if he does drive them off the wall one way or another. Oh yes, he can step on people's toes, whether by accident or not and in almost any direction he aims. It isn't like he does that purposely to make people hate him though, it's anything but that, honestly. In fact, whenever's someone's down, he tries to pull out a joke or two, even if they do sound corny.

Speaking of jokes, goodness, does this guy love them. Puns, corny ones, lame ones, he loves them like there's no end. It probably comes with the class clown territory and all, but Brown loves jokes and pranks. Practically everyone knows that Brown's sort of branded as a troublemaker by the less-humoring people for his love of practical jokes. Heck, it's probably not much of a stretch that he has a comedian suit or two at home- you know, those obnoxious, glittery suits with giant bowties? That's the one. PS: He does, and he makes sure they're never wrinkled.

Yeah, so basically Brown's outwardly a ego-centric, happy-go-lucky idiot.

Yes, that's right, it's only an outside skin.

In reality, underneath all those jokes and smiles, Brown's pretty insecure. One could suffer traumas or the like from a hard family or tragic incidents, but for Hidehiko Uesugi was how much he was harassed in junior high. Molded food slipped under his desk, his books being ripped when he wasn't looking, the fact that no one wants to be his friend- which all repeatedly happened for the whole, three years of his time in junior high. It hit the guy pretty hard, the harassment was the reason why he's now acting like a egocentric idiot. A defense mechanism to hide his real, unconfident and insecure self.

While he doesn't show it, he's honestly paranoid at the idea that people are still laughing at him behind his back. One experience is enough and he'd do most likely anything to make sure not to repeat the same mistake, which that case why he tends to step on people's toes and tell a wide range of jokes- to get a reaction, at least there they won't talk about him behind his back. But above anything, he longs for getting approval by everyone, even if they would get mad at him but still not sneer at him, he would still most definitely prefer to be well like around people.

It isn't like he's not aware of it though, he's very much aware that he's a coward and often beat himself for it under his breath. No doubt, he's also tired of it, but what can he do? It seems like Brown, contradictory to his usual optimism and his happy persona, tends to have an occasional pessimistic streak. It's hard to say though, since he mostly keep it under the dark. One thing's for sure, despite him pointing blames on other people, they're more than often hardly the truth, he actually hardly blames others that he lets on.

Perhaps, one of the positive affects that the attention craving had for Brown is the fact that, once you're a friend, he's as loyal as they come. Amplify by his loneliness during middle school, he cherishes every friend he has and wouldn't dare to try to loose their friendship with him. It still doesn't change the fact that he could make fun of them or throw stupid jokes in their face, but it's all from affection either way. When confronted by a serious situation, he does try to read the atmosphere and either lighten up the mood or comfort people. Ironically, despite being able to read the atmosphere well, he can't read people's feelings individually. He's an idiot like that, but he does try to be a good friend anyways.

Contradicting how his actions and speech could leave people facepalming and thinking 'what an idiot', he's his own brand of genius though. Perhaps it comes with the 'acting' territory and that he also acts like a moron for the better good, but he really does speak quite some interesting perspectives on some occasions. It's really hard to say though, since majority of the time he acts like an idiot. A real idiot.

Brown canonically represents the Justice arcana, which in turn, symbolizes lawfulness, impartiality and balance. Really, that doesn't fit Brown in any turn. What does, however, is the typical depiction of Justice- a woman holding a scale and a dagger. The scale determines the person's past actions and the dagger is to cut the past sins to bring back balance. This fits to a few of Brown's actions throughout the incident, once where didn't take Michiko's crap for punishing Tsutomu and Toro for sins they didn't commit, the other being that he cut his own by admitting to the real Maki about his past problems.

It could be said that, through the incident that went through, Brown had quite grew more than just the egocentric dick-wad he was before the demon incident. And in a way he had, it's still a slow transition, but he was more honest of his self now. The fake ego is slowly fading and replaced with a real one, one he could flaunt with his true feelings. Of course, this won't change the fact he would still throw lame puns and jokes around. And that he's still an idiot.

Backstory:
For most part, Hidehiko grew up a pretty normal childhood, maybe a bit coddled by his parents- but otherwise, he has it pretty average. However, perhaps that's where it all went wrong; while his parents aren't necessarily bad or raised him wrong, it was just where all the coddling went down when he was in Junior high.

Ah, Junior high, the time where children slowly transition into pre-teens and teens. Some rebelled their parents, some cruelly make fun of their peers- moreso then they had during their elementary days. Alas, Hidehiko was no exception to this rule- not from the sending end; but from the receiving end. For most part, he mostly had kept being one those dorky guys that are still attached to their parents and only have a small inner circle of friends. Most part being very early in the first year anyways, as fate and indigestion had it, pooping your pants would make you. Well. The butt of all the jokes in your year. For three years running.

That being said, junior high wasn't all that wonderful for one Hidehiko Uesugi. In fact, it made the poor guy pretty insecure and maybe slightly paranoid. How much you ask? Up 'till he crafted up a mask to wear in the public's eye, a mask where he seems like a wise-cracking, egoistical redhead. Yes, he dyed his hair reddish-brown so people would assume the nickname came from the hair. Yep.

DID HE SUCCEEDED? In a way yes, he gained popularity by being a cheerful character with a pretty good fashion sense, people are still kinda annoyed with his troublemaking nature and corny jokes. But, hey, at least he wasn't receiving the end of the jokes right? So all is good, even if he did felt it was all fake in a way.

A year passed, and his first year in St. Hemelin mostly went smooth sailing, popularity and everyone general liked him. Even if he was still too much of a dork to get a girlfriend. Then he was sign off to class 2-4 for his 2nd year, which following events had a Maki Sonomura taking a pretty long absent and the transfer of Reiji Kido within the happenings of the school year. So Maki's sick for long and they have a new kid that's pretty damn intimidating, nothing else could happen right? Alas.

One day, a few days away for the annual sports festival in St. Hemelin, Mr. I'm-different-now decided that it would be super to prod his friends -primarily Masao 'Mark' Inaba- to go in a bet and prove whether or not playing the children's 'Persona' game does strange things. And he succeeded in prodding the poor monkey, little did he know that it was more that just 'freaky' stuff. Way, way more.

Crying little ghost girl and most of everyone getting struck by lightning later, Brown decided to ran off and sneak out of school before everyone wakes up. W-well, bet aside, there's probably a good chance that everyone's sorta- kinda- probably pissed off at him so he'd best to let them cool down a bit.

Lo and behold, suddenly demons hoarded the town. Goddamn.

Sometime after tiptoeing and lots of running not to mentioning avoiding getting himself locked in the police station, Brown managed to return safely to school; also somehow the only place not infested by demons. So for awhile he decided to hang with a few of his bros and Kenta 'Toro' Youichi. Like, hiding the food ratio (sans cheese since Toro's lactose-intolerant) from Toro's reach, mentioning in every conversation of his good-looking self, the usual works.

But then the school literally freezes over. Why. And as fate would also have it, Toro also found the food ratio. Why.

Toro, naturally pissed that the food was kept away from him, had gone quickly a bit in the loony bin and claim that he was going to eat everything and watch everyone die from starvation. But, as if on timed, around the time Toro made his declaration; the person who's really responsible for his depressing state appears! Brown came quick to blame his other friend Ayase, it was her fault for flat out rejecting the poor tubby.

Big mistake number 2, which was slipping in the word 'fatso' to the currently loony Toro, which then followed him summoning a giant dick from his stomach. Holy shit, what direction is his life turning into.

And as if it could've get any weirder, some giant human-bird thing in armor suddenly came out of him just as something clad in red came out of Ayase. The red clad thing shoot fire at Toro's dick-monster as it exclaims 'Agilao!', and the dick-monster disappeared as its master was completely KO'd.

After the particular incident, Yukino and the others quickly fill in on what are those freaky things and what was happening to the school. Okay, so listing in order, because they play the Persona game, some deity gave them the ability to summon 'Personas'. Okay. Then, Mikage-cho was infested by demons, okay. Not long after, ol' piercey boy there accidentally unsealed a curse masked. Which, in turn, came out the 'Snow Queen', froze Hemelin, holding Ms. Saeko as hostage of sort, finally, holding a 'game' of sort that would either save Ms. S or erode humanity in darkness and despair. Oh.

This was definitely not a typical Tuesday.

Of course, he can't show everyone that he's afraid, most definitely not! He's the hero of the show, boys and girls, so he claims himself as the leader. Well, claims, it's pretty much as obvious as the sun that no one in the team's following him. Welp.

So there they go, going up to the summit of each three towers, fighting the tower's guardian and obtaining the crystal shards that were needed to defeat the Snow Queen. First, was the Nemesis tower, not long after they were greeted by the boss of the tower; Michiko Matsudaira and goodness, what a bitch she is. He's all good with the nice compliment and all, but stooping him low as her pet? Maybe in a derange elseworld he can, but certainly not this one! After pissing her off with his comment, the Nemesis boss immediately announced that the time restriction was lifted, taunting them to take as much time as they need and that she'll take them all out one by one. No biggie, they're gonna take her down real easy, am I right or am I right?

Well, trucking through the tower, they eventually found a room where one Toro and Tsutomu 'Devil Boy' Kurouri are held captive and tortured by the Nemesis Tower boss simply because she didn't like them. Oh, bitch, you were so going down now. At that point, something clicked in Brown's head and he was furious of Michiko, he wants her to go down at any cost. They all rushed up to the boss room however promising both to Toro and Devil Boy that'd they will beat the tower boss and free them- and they did. Well, plus, to make Michiko shut up. Seriously, geez, that girl had a motormouth and it was dead obvious that they wouldn't turn their backs on a friend. So seriously, seriously. Once the tower boss was defeated and the two boys freed from their prison- they gave the mirror shards they found to the party as gratitude, aw yeah.

But anywho, one tower down, two to go! Next up was the Hypnos tower- the tower that sort of fuels to dreams. Huh. The real nightmare was however, to find sweet, smart and funny Tamaki being all lovey-dovey in her dreams with Tadashi. Not only that, it was both of their dreams- Erm, no, it wasn't that (well, it was pretty much the end of the world for an Uesugi, but that's another story), so anyways- they pinched each of the sleeping victims awake, which were school nurse Ms. Natsumi, fencing club members Tadashi and Tamaki, Principle Oishi and Vice Principle Hanya. Not only that, they got two more shards, sweeeet.

But even then, they were required to defeat the boss of the tower, which took the form of a timid-looking girl named Kumi Hirose. She didn't look very much like a tower guardian should. But not long after, it was revealed how she used to have a hard life and how her only route to escapism of it all was to the land of dreams- Brown could understand that, but it escaping seemed like not the best choice either. Not that he could give much a jab at it, considering himself and all. Needless to say, however, they beat Hypnos and talked to Kumi one more time to rest her soul to peace.

One tower left! Of course with his heroics, they'd be on the last tower with a few mirror shards left to look with no problem! And there they were, entering the tower when not far from the entrance, they were greeted by boss herself- and man, was she ever a cutie. Yuriko Yamamoto, one cheerful of a girl for being the boss of a real gloomy tower. So the tower boss had simply told them to blow out one of the candles and they were set to actually enter the tower. Huh... So one of them did anyways- then turns out Yukino somehow lost her ability to summon her persona. Oh.....

But needless to say, everyone shared the same sentiments and move forward into the tower regardless. Well, losing your persona is still freaking scary and all, but they gotta beat Yuriko and save Ms. S right- Yukino seems to be dead-set on doing so even with losing her persona... They truck through the tower and eventually found a room, however with a guardian beast near the door with a bad case of Tarzan-speech. Tartarus they say, land of the dead and no return they say, talk about dramatizing things, eh? Back to trucking towards the top, they eventually found a room, Yuriko saying that one of the two treasure chests in front of their eyes was holding a piece of the mirror- damn, that girl likes to mess with people. Thankfully, ol' piercey had a pretty good sense of instinct (plus Brown's help as usual) and they got the right treasure chest! Hah! In your face!

And finally after all those dickeries, they reached towards Yuriko's room! Aw yeaaah! Yuriko! Yuriko! Uh. Yeah. Basically, Yukino had demanded the boss tower to come out and that they were so ready to fight her- only for her to offer them death so they could stay pretty...? What? Admittedly so, as much as he was a moron, he wasn't opting to giving his life, his future, away just so he can stay gorgeous. (Which is to say that he's a perfectly fine specimen and will grow up continuing so, thanks.). Pissed of the Thanatos boss right off, the gloves were off and they were headed for another fight.

Yuriko was one tough of a customer, but of course with his help- they easily beaten her on the get go! At the end of the battle, she seem to opened up her eyes and realize her mistakes in the past- Oh no, he isn't falling for her crocodile tears again. Well. Turns out she was being sincere and Ayase jabbed at him for being oblivious to girls. How was he suppose to know damnit. So Yuriko went for awhile about her fears and how she wanted to thank them for helping her putting an end to her loneliness one way or another... Huh... B-but anyways, all three towers down and they got all the mirror shards, victory was close he could just smell it.

So there they were, in the courtyard, Naoya holding up the mirror in front of Saeko's frozen state and they unfrozed her, yeah!

Only for her to explain her face was burning, and a freaky chick spirit appeared in front of them and rant on why people side with Saeko. And then another battle happens and they fight the literal mask itself. The literal. Giant mask. Self.

Why does this keep happening.

But either way, they fought it and beat it hands down with a side of victory gloating. Aw yis. But turns out, from the horse's mouth herself, that crazy chick spirit? Saeko's friend who never rest in peace and was also a victim of the mask. Saeko then retells her sweet, naive adolescent years -that really wasn't much of the juicy teen details except regarding the play thing- and turns out that crazy chick turned crazy because she believed in a stupid rumor, plus turning into some sort of butch-female distant cousin of Two-Face. O-oh...

The weird thing is- they defeated the mask and Tomomi, so all the ice works should have stop and melted by now right? Apparently not, a theory but seems like that since Tomomi came to her senses, her Persona was still strong and kicking and just decided to go 'screw you, bitch' and act on it's own now that it's separated from it's host. Goddamned. Still a light was shed in the moment of fuckery though! Tomomi's spirit gave them a neat little tip that the hero's costume from the play might be a good armor plus she turned the Demon's Mirror into a piece of shield. Okay, that's pretty cool of her. So they made a quick search for the costume and made their way into climbing up the... school. Yeah. Since with all the tower and castle theme, plus the school getting twisted, it would make sense right?

With some of the classes being unfroze now, they decided to try their luck on a few of the classes to see if something weird happened- and guess what happened after the third or fourth door? Warping times.- Well okay, we should elaborate more on that- so they found Nanjo on the corner of the room, saying stuff he's not sure what the heck is that giant spark doing in that room, he does however hand them a neat dagger. Thanks, dickweed. Then they decided to test their luck and see what happens when you get closer to that giant spark, then warping times happened.

There they were on an even more twisted and weird side of the school the Night Queen made and they still had to climb their way up to beat the lilly-ass offa it. Eventually, they got stuck but also found themselves befriending two Jack Frosts named Raiho and Reiho- who then gave them a hand and warped them to the next floor. Cool. But then, eventually, they found a classroom with a girl with a straight-cut and and a red ribbon over her head. Wait a sec... Maki...?

Basically, Maki with the mask went into a sort of anger rant before suddenly poofing off to elsewhere. Uhh.... She really seemed angry though, talking about how she could only watch people's happiness while she was alone. Huh... Come to think about it, the place starts to get even more odder than it already was- get this, some floors later, they found a brat in black who ask them if they had seen a guy with the Hemelin uniform but with a mask on his face- who apparently is her dad. Weirder and weirder by the minute, yup.

Some floors later, they do meet a guy with a funny mask on. What a weirdo. Plus he also apparently knows 'her', that Maki-lookalike with the mask. Well... okay then. So the group disregarded that and went back to searching the Night Queen- which eventually found on the 8th floor in a room similar to how the gym in the normal school look like. The mask duo offered the queen to combine all of their powers to become Captain Planet. With the mask dude offering them as sort of a pity prize to teleport them to the final floor and challenge the Queen. Pshh, they can so do this.

Final stage, they rush in the final floor, looking through where the Night Queen and it's goons were in. Which. Being said. They literally combined to one another. Okay then.

So there goes the final battle as they dish out their most powerful attacks and strategies against the dark queen. And of course, they beat her in her own game. The ice finally melted and the school finally mended back into it's normal state. Heck yeah, they were done and done with this, he can go home and take a nice hot bath now- well actually no, they were going to go outside and look for Maki and Mark. Because man, what have they been doing while they were saving the school's lilly-ass.

Just as soon as he moved forward towards the door, he found himself knock unconscious and woke up in a place he had never seen before. In front of him was some other elaborate fancy school like Hemelin- 'cept he never seen this place before. Couldn't be all bad, right?

Anything Else?:
- Official profile; "A classmate of the protagonist's. A great attention seeker. His cheerful character and good taste of fashion gain him much popularity. Sometimes he also shows his weaker, more sensitive side."

- How Personas work in Persona 1 is slightly different than how they are in the later games. Brown acquired his Persona by playing the Persona game before and met Philemon in his dream, which said being bestowed him the power of Persona. But, for it to activate, the person in question must summon it with all their might during the first time. I.E, Brown's case was when he was attacked by Toro and Mara. Later use can be summon by their own free will with not much requirements needed, so no evokers or Midnight channel needed.

- Oh yes, the mechanics to obtain other Personas apart from the starting one are also different. Being that other Personas (such as Jack Frost, Quetzalcoatl), are essentially two spell cards and -optionally- an item fused together in the Velvet room. Said spell cards are obtain if he manages to get one from a demon, where he pleases them and ask him nicely, etc.

- To obtain the ultimate Persona is by acquiring a special item totem. Brown's being the Victorian Rune. Then the totem is later used in a fusion, in which the other requirement being that both spell cards must be in the same arcana.

- Speaking of which, also different from the later games, all the main cast are able to go to the Velvet Room, which is usually located a room somewhere in a dungeon or a corner in the Joy Street Mall. The Velvet Room is only accessible to people who have high spiritual senses, however it is likely Brown acquired these senses after he played the Persona game.

- HE IS ALSO ABLE TO USE NOT ONE, BUT THREE PERSONAS. Err, this does not necessarily give him all the advantage though, in-game, you have to wait a turn before you can use the Persona you just switch in battle. So I'm going to assume that it takes some concentration to switch and summon another Persona. Also to make everyone's lives easier, let's say there's no Velvet Room in FDC yet so Brown can't swap around his current roster either.

goood afternoon my classmates and teachs of smash high, in case you havent gotten the chance to meet me, im the ever-talented, great hidehiko uesugi! you can call me brown for short, mwuahahahahaha!

so anyways- strange stuff you guys got here, not like mikage wasnt missing short of a few light-bulbs anyways, heheheh. i could be seeing it wrong but... is the bear really the lunch-lady. then again, the head's a hand so.... not like anything wrong with it, just an observation, y'know?

In-Character 3rd person sample:
Brown awkwardly twiddle his thumbs as he sat across Smash's headmaster. Who, that we should all obviously make a point of, is a giant hand. Which is a something considering the redhead was positive he had seen everything ever since that Snow Queen thing that happened in his old school. But either way, at least it was also a something that the hand acts like a general educator interested in educating children regardless if they fall from the sky or the like?

He really doesn't have much choice anyways, lucky enough that the hand didn't want to try to squish him or anything, plus he has no freaking clue where he was right now. All he has to do is just study and stay in one of the dorms right? Like anything crazier could happened since now he had seen everything. That is until he just saw two creatures -Pokemon- running pass by him on chase in the halls. Well ok, this might be. Quite the experience.... maybe there might things that would even go beyond 'Snow Queen' weird here.
